LIPOSUCTION OR LIPOSCULPTURE
A technique to remove unwanted fat deposits
The removal of subcutaneous fat through small incision with a narrow metal tube and sucking with strong vacuum pump, which is, drown back and forth within the area of excess fat. Liposuction process removes tunnels of fat leaving the small blood vessels and nerves intact. The skin will then retract within 6 weeks but real results can be seen from 3 months and finally up to 6 months.

Before and After |
What areas can be treated?
Liposuction can help to restore and shape the body areas like abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs (inner + outer), knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks, bull neck, neck and also fatty swelling under the nipples which looks like breasts in a man (medical term for “man boob” is call gynaecomastia).
The most suitable candidates for liposuction are with specific areas of pockets with skin elasticity, with firmer bodies. Younger patients achieve greater results.
What are the side effects?
Bruising is the most common side effect. Some may feel discomfort and
at times some pain. Swelling, lumpiness and discoloration of skin, which lasts about
a month or six weeks post treatment, are the others. All side
effects will disappear within 6 months. Numbness in the treated area also may last for up to six months.
Small incision 1.0 to 2.0 centimeters scars and redness may
stay longer. Small incision scars may stay forever although
redness will disappear.
How long will it last?
Fat cells do not regenerate in adult life. Therefore, the removal of fatty tissue with Liposuction will give a permanent change in contour and will be independent of any changes in your body weight.
What are the limitations?
It is important to understand that Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or cellulite. The amount of fat that can be removed from a localized area is limited and safe up to 3 liters and then no more fat can be removed. Therefore, it may not be possible to slim down an area as much as you might like. Further treatments may be needed only after six months after the first treatment.
What is the expected time of operation?
The
procedure is normally carried out under general anesthetic
as a day case. You may wish to stay the night. Extra night’s
charges will be added to your bill. You may need to take painkillers
for 2-3 days. Firm snug pressure garment has to be worn day
and night after the procedure to help reduce swelling and
skin retraction.
You will need to take a few days off work if a small area
is treated, but for the larger areas may require seven to
ten days off work. However this depends upon each individual
as some patients have gone on holiday 3 days after treatment.
